Time graph for 10 Minute Solution Pilates Perfect Body
Classic Pilates blended with dance, yoga and strength-training to maximize results. Each 10-minute segment uses both standing and matwork to target a specific body area: arms, abs, buns/thighs, total body and a stretch (you can program the DVD to play any segment in any order). Designed for exercisers already familiar with basic Pilates, the workout features a faster-than-usual tempo and a higher-than-usual intensity. Suzanne Bowen’s cuing is also non-beginner-focused; she emphasizes the body-position and movement subtleties often overlooked in an introductory program. Requires 1 to 3 lb. dumbbells. ©2008. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Close captions, Region 1.

10 Minute Solution Pilates Perfect Body

Actually fun
This wasn't as challenging as I was expecting based on some of the previous reviews, by that I mean I was comfortably able to get through every exercise (Lara Hudson's 10 Minute Solution pilates videos always have at least one move I don't think I'll ever be able to do). My muscles were still challenged and I think this is an effective routine for all levels of fitness. The slight twists on the typical pilates exercises make this fresh and fun. Bowen's Lotte Berk background is evident here. This DVD will get used. - posted by Joy on 11/13/2008
Wonderful!!!
I have no idea what a few of these reviewers are talking about. I am an advanced workout-a-holic exerciser and I thought this was an outstanding workout! Susan is so down-to-earth and real and yet very clear and professional. I love how she explains each exercise well, but doesn't waste time talking too much. She really gets right into each exercise without much of a break in between, making the most of the 10 minute segments. The exercises were really tough and challenging(if you really contracted and made the most of each move) and more advanced than many other 10 Minute Solution dvds in the past have been. I thought it was fantastic and one I will want to do again and again!! - posted by Shelley on 11/9/2008
didn't like it as well as the other 10 Minute Solution Pilates workouts
I have the other 10 Minute Solution workouts (the first one, Rapid Results, and the one with the band), and I really like all of those, but I did not like this DVD and did not keep it. I thought since it was described as a blend of dance, Pilates, and yoga that it would be a little different, and there was really nothing new or different about it. The clip showed a fair amount of standing work which I was looking forward to, but there wasn't really much of that in the workout. The Pilates exercises were sort of just the same old stuff to me, and I also didn't find it very challenging. I think if you do not already have the other 10 Minute Solution workouts this is fine, but otherwise I think it is repetitive of the others. - posted by Barb on 11/7/2008
Plenty Tough
Well, for me, this DVD was GREAT! It was very hard, I could barely finish some of the moves. I am getting back into excercise, but I'm not that out of shape and I do have a lot of flexibility and I enjoy pilates excercise. On the first try, I tried to do the whole DVD, but I ended up skiping the 4th workout and skipped to the cool down (so I did 40 minutes instead of 50) It really was great....if you are in the best shape of your life and you work out like, every day, then sure, maybe this isn't enough of a challenge, but I think for the majority of people, it would be a welcome dvd in the work out rotation. - posted by Tarrah on 10/17/2008
Not Tough Enough
I love Suzanne Bowen's ab work in her 10 Minute Solution dvd called Blast Off Belly Fat. The exercises in BOBF are tough, and when I finish several segments from that, my abs and core are worked comprehensively. After trying Pilates Perfect Body, I was a bit disappointed, not in the quality of the workout, nor in the instruction. I was disappointed because this dvd is not nearly as challenging as BOBF and I did not think it deserved an Intermediate/Advanced rating. It is not intense enough for someone who is accustomed to dance-based exercise and Pilates workouts. Suzanne hybridizes Pilates with dance and yoga to arrive at some of the Pilates-inspired exercises in this dvd, but in order to make it tougher, there would need to be many more reps, more work with the entire body (a la Stott Pilates and Joseph Pilates, really), and more emphasis on extreme muscular control, work on increasing flexibility and more balance challenges. While this would be a good workout for some, for me this one is a little diluted. I would love to see Suzanne do a version of this that would be killer-tough. Hint, hint Suzanne! - posted by w.o.w. on 10/16/2008
This one is hard!
The first time I did this, I almost died! It's pretty hard for a pilates workout. I have done it 5 times now, and can finally make it all the way through, but it is challenging. I love the arm segment the most. I feel like the easiest section is the abs section, but I still get a good burn with that one too. I really like this video. - posted by Ann on 10/15/2008
Must-Have Pilates DVD!
I love pilates and am really picky when it comes to workouts. I haven't been impressed with the previous 10 Minute Solutions pilates DVDs (both Suzanne's and Lara's), but absolutely love this one. It's definitely challenging, yet enjoyable. This one really made me sweat, which I always hope for but rarely get out of a pilates workout. The moves have been carefully selected so that each one is effective, and Suzanne perfectly times the breaks so that you can keep challenging yourself while maintaining good form. If you like Pilates, no matter what level you're at, definitely get this one! - posted by Vivienne on 10/14/2008
Better than the Pilates Craze
When it comes to Pilates, I am pretty much over the craze. Years ago I practiced pilates heavily (Ana Caban, Mari Winsor, etc). I even had a Pilates reformer. I eventually got so sick of Pilates that the very idea made me cringe. But, recently I have been looking for a toning and stretch workout that would be easy to take with me and do anywhere. This workout not only fits the bill, it a great workout. I enjoyed the instructor's fresh approach, diversity, and calm, confident presentation. I didn't get bored, I did get sweaty, and I enjoyed all 5 sections. A great video that I look forward to using again! - posted by Melissa on 10/11/2008
Looks easy ...
So, I previewed the DVD a couple of times before trying the workout. I thought, "piece a cake." I was so wrong!!! I easily complete her other 10-minute solution Pilates Sculpt and Slim workout which is also Intermediate/Advanced. This workout should be "Advanced." With the exception of the abs segment, I could barely make it through all the reps in the other segments. This is a fantastic, challenging workout which will be a regular in my rotation. - posted by Kim on 9/28/2008
As the name saids its PERFECT
I am so tempted to buy Suzanne's other two 10 Minute Solution workouts. I was so impress with this DVD. I did the first 3 section one night and the last two another night. While I thought the Siluoette sections was the toughest, all the section were challenging. Suzanne's instrution is excellent and she also told you on where you should breath. The reps and sets weren't long but some of the moves she did within each set were intense and challenging to my body. - posted by saundra on 9/27/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
