Time graph for Cathe Friedrich's Stretch Max
You get “maximum stretching variety” with three separate workouts — floor, stability ball and Dyna-band stretching. Each program improves flexibility and reduces stress in a different way. The first segment requires no equipment; it includes both athletic and yoga stretches (standing and lying). Next, you’ll add a stability ball to lengthen the actions or improve the body position (using moves that seem very natural, not “forced” to work on the ball). Finally, you’ll use a Dyna-band to control some stretches and deepen others (while also providing a gentle toning benefit). Throughout, Cathe’s cuing is always fluid, calming and precise. Quiet music. Requires a 6-foot Dyna-band and a stability ball. ©2005.

Cathe Friedrich's Stretch Max

My Favorite Stretch DVD
I tried this workout yesterday, and I love it. It really worked out some tightness I felt in my neck and shoulders. Some stretch programs are just too easy, but I only did the first of the 3 workouts on this dvd, and I felt great afterwards. I have several of Cathe's workouts and do them regularly. They have given me a body that I thought I could only get at a gym. In fact, I have never worked out in a gym. I exercise exclusively with Cathe because....her stuff in just good! - posted by Moe on 7/29/2008
Love this DVD!
I love this dvd. It was exactly what I was looking for in a stretch workout. I use it 3 times a week and I can tell a difference in my flexibility. - posted by Tonya on 6/13/2008
StretchMax -- Couldn't live without it
This is by far the best stretch workout I own. If you enjoy Cathe's other great workouts then you really need this one. I feel renewed after doing 1 or 2 stretch segments. This one has improved my flexibility. Highly recommended. - posted by JM on 1/7/2008
1st time I've been disappointed
I've always loved her workout routines; however, the music on this one is entirely too loud. In the first segment, it is difficult to hear the cueing when she is standing and impossible to hear when she is facing toward the floor. In the other segments, it is just irritating. Instead of being background, the music takes the forefront and relegates the cueing to the background. - posted by Nelda on 11/8/2007
I Concur with all of the other 5 Star Comments!
This is one of the best dvds for stretching and relaxing those hard working muscles that I have purchased. I truly enjoy the band segment. Stretching is a part of my daily routine now. I enjoy this dvd better than the "Yoga for Dummies" dvd that I own. Three excellent, relaxing stretch routines for the price of one. Don't hesitate...go for it...it is a definate buy/keeper! - posted by Arlene on 11/7/2007
I love, love, LOVE this DVD
I absolutely LOVE this DVD. I do a segment from this after every workout...mostly I do segment 2 (the stability ball segment), though. It totally relaxes me and takes away all the tightness in my muscles. I've never been able to say that about a 20 minute program before. Excellent. I highly recommend! - posted by Mary Beth on 11/7/2007
Like this better than yoga
First off, it's only 20 minute segments. Secondly, it does what it advertises...I felt a great stretch today after trying this for the first time. Looking forward to the other two segments.I have stopped many a yoga DVD in mid-workout because I felt tighter after some of the poses than I did when I started.A couple of reviwers seemed to sense that Cathe seemed disinterested. Everyone is welcomed to their own opinion, but here's how I felt about her demeanor..If I'm doing an intense kickbox or weight workout, I want an intense Cathe leading me..if I want to stretch..I want a relaxed atmosphere, and a relaxed Cathe leading me. I truly felt this was the case here. - posted by Jerry on 8/25/2007
Fabulous Stretch
I love, love, love this DVD. It's fun and gives me a great stretch; unlike other stretch videos (and I have quite a few), there is a lot of emphasis on the torso, particularly the back and shoulders, which have always been problematic for me. - posted by Barbara on 8/9/2007
Love the variety and efficiency!
I love this stretch series because it is a decent 20 minute stretch. There are 3 different stretches to choose from which is also nice or if time permits, do all 3. Sometimes you need more of a stretch routine or even longer and more thorough (like Charlene Prickett's Homestretch), but I don't always have time for a lengthy stretch session and considering most people bypass a good stretch altogether, this would be so beneficial than not stretching at all. I feel SO much better after doing one of these routines. I love having fresh new moves to alternate as well as the old school. This is relaxing and there's variety. LOVE it! Some stretch workouts are SO boring. I need to stretch not SLEEP! - posted by Stephanie on 8/7/2007
I love it...
I've been doing this stretch workout for 6 months now. And I cant go without it. It's a great stretch video. - posted by L on 7/1/2007

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
