A smooth-flowing series of classic yoga poses filmed in a flower-filled, oceanside setting. You’ll begin your day with the AM workout; it includes energizing standing moves along with gentle reminders to mindfully plan your day. You’ll end with the PM segment; it calms your body with a blend of elongation, stretch and relaxation poses. The moves are all yoga classics like warrior, down dog and sun salutation. Elena Brower’s detailed instruction really helps you internalize the positions. She demos each pose while her calm, voiceover cuing carefully describes what you’ll be doing (and feeling). Quiet music. ©2008. DVD has: Region 1.

Element AM & PM Yoga for Beginners

A very good morning workout
I'm 33 and have been doing workout DVDs (cardio and core) for over ten years. All of my workouts have been in the afternoon, and I was looking to start a yoga routine first thing out of bed in the morning. Being new to yoga I bought this DVD off of the reviews I read and agree with most of them. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing the instructor is calm and very clear on the moves and the transition from one move to the other. I'm very tight in the morning but was still able to do the moves without straining and the time goes by extremely quickly. A very good exercise to get the day started. - posted by Jason on 10/29/2008
Very solid beginners yoga.
First I want to correct the spelling of Elena's name -- it's Elena Brower, not Ellen. This is an excellent beginners yoga DVD by this well-known Anusara teacher. There are 2 approx. 30 practices (am for energy, pm for relaxation). Terrific instruction, great execution of poses -- this isn't just another flingathon. It's so good to see media practices be such experienced, well grounded teachers as Brower. Photography is very clear, setting is pleasant garden, music is good yoga backdrop. - posted by Sharon on 9/12/2008
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
