Time graph for Gilad's Quick Fit System
Seven complete, boot camp-style workouts. This well-structured system of complementary programs is designed to burn fat and reshape your body. Each of the three aerobic workouts has a distinct style. “Classic Cardio” uses traditional mixed-impact aerobic favorites while “Cardio Strike” features lower-impact kickbox-style movements. “Cardio Blast” blends the two techniques with an emphasis on speed, endurance and coordination. They’re easy to follow, starting slowly and building to a more intense finish. The four targeted toning programs are designed for fast, efficient sculpting. “Hips, Thighs and Buns” mixes standing lunge, squat and plié moves with lower-body-focused floorwork. “Abs” includes a non-stop mix of traditional and innovative floorwork (e.g. “V-sit crunches” and “on all fours ab rolls”). “Shoulders & Arms” changes the angle or body position to target these muscles in different ways. Finally, “Chest & Back” features a concentrated medley of proven standing and floor moves. Gilad is both supportive and “demanding” -- his, no-nonsense, boot camp-style cuing is very easy-to-follow (he used to be a military fitness trainer). Requires 2 to 8 lb. dumbbells. Includes an exercise guide and eating plan. ©2001. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Gilad's Quick Fit System

This is Exceptional!
Gilad, as always is really serious and dedicated about getting you fit. I am one week into the "program" and really feeling it. Don't be fooled by the shorter workouts - 20 to 30 minutes. They are intense and comprehensive like no other workout I have ever done. Tons of motivation. The program is prepared for you with online assistance as well. I can commit to 12 weeks of rejuvinating me and being really fit. The workouts are impeccably cued with close detail to form along with warm ups and cool downs. I am excited about the future of my fitness with this program to make it happen! - posted by Tommie on 7/10/2008
great video's
i only have two of these videos-"arms and shoulders" which is terrific and "chest and back" which is almost terrific. i thought the back exercises might also include the lumbar but i guess that's perceived as core work. the chest work out is great though. i like gilad's style and the pace. also easy to modify weights as you progress. i started out just holding tennis balls as i had been in physical therapy for some alignment problems and was pretty weak. would definetly recommend these as fun, quick and effective. hope to get other gilad tapes in the future. - posted by katie on 3/30/2008
Easy to Follow
I like Gilad because I am klutzy and his aerobic routines are mostly easy to follow. He always starts on the right foot! The toning segments can get tough esp. the abs workout! He is known for the best abs in the business and these videos show why! I interchange this with the 45/split routine and the Bodies in Motion shows. Gilad's Basic routines are the Best for toning and for maintaining muscle tone. He gets a lot done in a short time. He doesn't do much stretching so that's on your own. - posted by Joanne on 1/22/2008
Look for the silliness in the aerobics segments
I like Gilad because there is a bit of silliness that seeps in. These are some of my favorite videos (DVD), because there they are working out on the beach in Hawaii, and some dude sneaks into the background to poke fun at them. Gilad doesn't seem to notice, but, Trella, one of the other exercisers starts cracking up, the camera men try to keep him out of the scene, but they do focus in on the girl cracking up, which is fun. In the same series, Trella accidently punches herself in the face, not to hard. Gilad doesn't seem to be looking at the time, and you can tell for the next few moves she is turning her face away so she doesn't do it again. I just have to respect someone who doesn't take themselves so seriously that they let you see these little bloopers enough to let you know they are real. I am telling you, when you do these vidoes over and over it is fun to look forward to a little break in the routine. These three videos are some of my favorites and I wouldn't give them away, because I do them over and over, not just because they are good workouts, but appreciate the humor and humility of the performers. - posted by Litza on 11/10/2007
Great workout!!!
I'm so glad that I purchased the GFS. It's a great workout program and introduction to a consistant exercise plan for beginners and re-introduction for those who stopped exercising for a while. My first thoughts were this is kind of easy... but this program will have you sweating and feel the burn especially the Hips, Thighs and Buns tape. I now push the intensity and I feel it even more as the sweat gushes out!!! Highly recommend the total program. - posted by Nita on 10/22/2007

Great and...!
I'm probably the only person who hadn't heard of Gilad until two months ago. Short on time and high on stress, I decided to try a shorter workout on a more frequent basis. Other reviewers have already covered the pros and cons of Gilad's exercise strategy and this system. By the way, a CD is provided with the (DVD) set -"Quick Fit System 24-hour internet support service." I initially dismissed it as just another marketing ploy. Curiosity got the better of me, and I finally viewed it. Gilad has written a very comprehensive fitness book and included it on the CD. I was very surprised and impressed with the scope of the material. There's even a section on weight training using heavier gym equipment (as well as other routines, nutrition, motivational techniques, etc). While the CD also provides a "chat" resource (if the user registers), the book is actually a serious - although basic - gem with considerable merit. I recommend the DVD system and the bonus material whole heartedly. - posted by TU on 10/23/2006
WORTH EVERY PENNY!
All (3) aerobic & (4) toning sessions are great! You'll work up a good sweat, plus it's fun, easy to follow, yet still a challenge. GREAT INSTRUCTOR - been using his DVD's for years. - posted by Liz on 6/19/2006
Love the toning segments
I love the toning segments, particularly the Shoulders & Arms and the Chest & Back. You know that back fat (you know around the bra strap) the back exercises REALLY target that area! Say good-bye to back fat with this workout! And the shoulders & arms segment is superb! So easy to follow! And when you open the box there's a recommended workout schedule. Can't go wrong if you follow that! Happy exercising! - posted by Daleann from Champaign IL on 10/27/2005
Great system
I bought this video series in anticipation of getting back into shape after I had my first child. I started the toning (except abs) week 2 and added the aerobics (with my Dr's ok) week 4. I was back to my prepregnancy weight minus 5 extra pounds after doing the system for about 2 months. I liked that they were split into different videos, and I switched the order and did repeats of the tapes for my particular needs. Although they were originally for that total body workout to get me back in shape initially, I still like to take a break from other routines to do this series for 4-6 weeks because I enjoy them, but I also know I'm getting a total body workout each week. - posted by Kim on 7/12/2005

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
