Designed for plus-size women, it’s an easy-to-follow program that’s safe, fun and motivating. You’ll burn fat as you build confidence and re-discover the joy of movement. It’s led by Debra Mazda — a high-energy, 165-pound fitness pro (who once weighed 310 pounds — she knows that “fitness comes in many sizes”). The moves are straight-forward but never boring; you’re sure to be shaking your shoulders and rolling your hips right along with this all-plus-size class. The workout also features intensity options that let you match the level to your situation. Includes a bonus 9-minute toning section. ©2008. DVD has: 4 premixes (19 to 54 min. alternate workouts.

ShapelyGirl: Let's Get Moving!

Love this workout!
I really liked this workout! I think the workout level is great and easy to follow. Also, I didn't have to be an acrobat in this video--I was able to do the exercises in my jeans, and that was great! The time went by quickly. I also like that the workout is not too long. (I don't want to workout for an hour--20 to 30 minutes is just right.) It's encouraging to see other shapely girls my size doing the exercises. I look forward to more Shapelygirl workouts, and hope they will continue to offer the shorter workout time. - posted by Joann on 11/18/2008
Eh...
I hate being the downer here, because I love the IDEA of this workout (2 stars for that). It's refreshing to see big girls doing the workout, because I have a lot of weight to lose. However, this is just way too easy. I have a hard time believing that significant calories are burned doing this one! I'm not in bad shape, though I need to lose a lot of weight, and this was just super-easy and boring. - posted by Jamie on 11/14/2008
Nice, easy moves, if you want it to be
This is a DVD with nice and easy moves, especially for those of us with bad knees. However, if you want a bit more intense workout, just ramp up your moves. There are times when she has your hands on your hips, but I have my arms moving to get my heart rate up. You can do simple things to make it more intense. I highly recommend this dvd for a decent workout on a tight time schedule. - posted by BA on 10/31/2008
GREAT BASIC WORKOUT!!!
This is the perfect basic aerobic workout! Just what I was looking for in my exercise routine. The length of time is great, the steps are basic, the instructor is good, the music enjoyable. Not too many DVD's out there that are basic low impact aerobic workouts. Hope Debra does more DVDs and sticks to the concept of low impact aerobics w/o any "extra" stuff. I will definitely come back for more if she does! - posted by Nancy on 10/30/2008
AWESOME -- This Is THE Workout Video For Everyone
My girlfriend purchased this video and brought it over to check out. I was fascinated by this easy and most productive workout. Debra Mazda does an outstanding job. I can see by utilizing this workout routine, people can attain the desired results and get themselves into much better shape. It does not matter about your size, it comes right down to your own motivation to get up off the couch or away from the table and start moving. My girlfriend and I both do this workout and have seen a difference. Even though this video is addressed to women, the men can do it, too. Debra Mazda is great! I can see this workout as a nationwide program in every gym. - posted by Rick on 10/20/2008

Let's Get Moving! is for Real Women!
Just wanted to add my comments about this awesome new DVD. I have been teaching group exercise classes for over 18 years now. In addition to being a certified instructor, I'm also a certified personal trainer, and I even wrote a fitness column in a local newspaper for 11 years. So I've seen a lot of fitness fads, weird diets, and strange approaches, and in spite of it all, nothing works but good eating plus exercise. Over the years, I've had a lot of experience working with women who want to get fit and lose weight, and it is a struggle, especially when you're trying to get started! The best aspect of this DVD is that it is CREDIBLE. If you are a beginner and not the biggest fan of exercise, all you have to do is put this DVD in your player, and you can't help but to follow along. There are four Shapely Girls doing this workout with Debra (ok, since she's the leader, I guess that makes 5 Shapely Girls!), so it's not like you're faced with "Size 2" fitness models smiling sweetly saying, "come on, you can do it!". But when you see these girls being able to follow and having fun, you can't help but think, "hey, I can do it too!". The moves are basic and safe, but also fun and effective, so you don't have to worry about awkward, hard -to-follow routines. And that's the whole point, fitness is for EVERY body. There's no magic workout, no magic diet. The key is to find an activity you like and stick with it. Combine that with healthy eating, and there's your answer. The ShapelyGirl Workout is a great tool, and Debra is a leader you can believe in -- she's been there, done that, and she's succeeded -- how motivating! Thanks Debra, for producing a DVD for real women that's real fun! - posted by Lisa from Texas on 10/13/2008
Lovely workout...
I tend to steer towards intense cardio but occasionally like to do a Leslie Sansone video and I thought this would be like a Leslie. The instructor is a fresh face on the scene and she's very motivating. The music was also great. The moves are easy to pick up, too. All in all - a nice light day workout for me, and one that I would recommend for someone looking for a low impact cardio workout. - posted by GymRatt on 10/7/2008
This is a very good cardio workout
I am lifting weights and needed a good cardio alternative. I am far from my goal size and I think somewhat fit for my size and my age of 55(recently had knee replacement). This is very user friendly with choices of segements, the instructor is likable and motivating. I worked up a sweat and it did challenge me with marching and numerous variations. My friend did it with me and she likes it as well. Pure cardio, no weights, don't need a lot of room. The music was OK. I have not done all the segements but this first one is just what I was looking for. - posted by Gigi on 10/4/2008
Awesome workout for anyone!
Wow! What a winner! I've been working out for some time (3-4 years), and I think Debra's got a real winner here! She uses basic moves, but throws in variations and new steps that really get your heart going. I don't care what size you are, this workout is wonderful for everyone! The music is great, and Debra herself is so motivating and encouraging. Her cuing is spot-on, and the steps themselves are easy to follow. The "extras" are also great, including a solid lower body/ab segment. I can't wait for her to come out with more! This is a wonderful addition to anyone's workout DVD shelves! - posted by Bernadette on 9/13/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
