Time graph for Tae Bo Freestyle Funk
These funky, dance-style movements are absolutely not the “same old Tae Bo” -- as Billy says, “let’s loosen up and have some fun!” These moves are dancy and free-spirited -- fast-paced with very fluid motions (a little more like traditional Tae Bo than his more playful “Funk” video). You still get Tae Bo’s legendary energy and enthusiasm; they’re just blended into slightly less “serious” workouts. The moves range from “speed bags” to cha chas, from back kicks to swiveling hips, from simple marches to “Vogue poses” and from upper-cuts to “Roger Rabbits.” The workout ends with some cardio-speed abwork. Less intense — and definitely more entertaining — than his previous programs, this is perfect addition to your Tae Bo collection. ©2008.

Tae Bo Freestyle Funk

Waste of TIME!!!
This video is TERRIBLE! It's full of chaotic, freestyle moves and when I say freestyle, I mean Billy is making things up as he goes. All of this is quite apparent since the workout crew is obviously confused by his movements. As for Shelly, Billy's daughter, she has taken being annoying to the next level and beyond. My husband says she looks like a grasshopper, then he decided maybe she was more like a cricket. This is my take on the video after only 10 mins. We watched the rest while doing the laundry for pure, unadulterated LAUGHTER!! I will add this one positive note: My 17-month old daughter LOVED the video. Although, she'll dance and twirl to anything! BUYER BEWARE! - posted by Dee. Houston, TX on 11/17/2008
Taebo Funk is Fun!
I read alot of these reviews and I think some people are little too uptight. This video is a fun change to Billy's other tapes. You can tell that none of the people in the video are professional dancers, but it makes me feel good because we are all struggling to look as good as Billy & Shellie. Those two can dance! Billy makes things fun in this video and takes you along for the ride. - posted by Leah on 11/12/2008
An exercise in futility
I love Billy Blanks, and have many other Tae Bo videos, so I thought I'd give this a try for something different and fun. It was definitely different, but no kinds of fun. I agree with a previous reviewer--the moves are so awkward, Billy's cueing between moves is terrible, and it was an overall choppy video. I couldn't break a sweat with this one if I really tried. I didn't really try though--after the first 10 minutes, I knew this one wasn't for me. If I wanted to dance around and not break a sweat, I'd put on some CD's and bust my own move, and I can guarantee I wouldn't look half as silly as the people on this video. Just to add--sometimes I like his daughter Shelly (skinny girl on his left), but most of the time she looks to me like she's incredibly full of herself. - posted by Amy on 11/11/2008
nice and fun
This workout is considered the easiest made by billy blanks, but at the same time if you want something different, go for it. it's fun, enjoyable and effective. - posted by joelle on 11/10/2008
Not The Best Tae-Bo
I understand that Billy wants to do something different but I did not enjoy this at all.. It wasn't fun and I did not feel that I had a good workout..and TaeBo Funk is just as bad!!! So BEWARE of this one!! Wendy 11/7/08 - posted by Wendy on 11/7/2008
Disappointed
Just a note, but the "one skinny woman" is Billy's daughter and I think she is instructed to do that to encourage and pump everyone up. As to the workout, I felt like it was a whole lot of nothing and I usually love Billy, quirks and all. He was really hard to follow, changed from one thing to the next quickly without a whole lot of cueing, and we were mostly watching him perform exercises that didn't make a lot of sense. To me it was pretty much a waste, which is unfortunate. It could have been so much more given a little forethought and planning. I was hoping for a new variation on his traditional workout, something new and different, but it was really not a workout at all. - posted by Shelley on 9/20/2008
fun dance workout
the first time i watched this video i couldn't stop thinking i wish the skinny girl would just shut up. she is so distracting. i know you will know what i mean. otherwise fun and i like how he uses a diverse group of women and men. they're all sweating and look like they're having fun. i wish someone would have edited the one female's constant counting and outbursts. - posted by merry on 9/15/2008
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
