Qualifications: ACE and AFAA Primary Group Fitness Instructor, former competitive dancer and choreographer. She is an industry leader for GXUnited, a FitFluential Ambassador, The Body Department Contributor, a master trainer for BOSU and program developer for the Teach Dance Fitness and Teach Barre Fitness programs and the Red Hot Dance Fitness and Barre Fitness instructor certifications. She is also a graduate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
Personal History: I grew up in the dance studio. Throughout my childhood I traveled and competed nationally at Star Power and Dance Masters of America and took master classes with Joe Lanteri and Frank Hatchett in NYC and Philadelphia. I went on to dance with the nationally ranked NCAA Temple University Diamond Gems while pursuing my undergraduate degree in journalism. The transition from dance to fitness happened when I was asked, because of my dance background, to lead a fitness class while in high school. I continued to teach group fitness classes throughout my adult life and now 25 years later my love of creating fun and doable dance workouts is still my passion. After years managing group fitness programs at various gyms and non-profits I launched my own fitness education company in 2011, Red Hot Dance Fitness.
Workout Philosophy: Working out can be fun. For me music has been the driving force for my workouts. The music sets the cadence and is also an amazing motivator. If there is music, I am moving.
Success Story: Every day I am moved by clients who express their joy and happiness after the hour we spend together. But what is most exciting is to see someone go from taking their very first class or doing the DVD for the first time, feeling intimidated at first but building confidence over time to eventually feeling so passionate about the change they have made in themselves that they then want to help others and become an instructor themselves. That is the biggest success: to see a student transition to teacher!
