Qualifications: Certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Has a degree in Human Development from Colorado State University.
Personal History: I grew up doing gymnastics. I used that experience during college as a cheerleader. But, while I was very active, I knew very little about nutrition. I gained a lot of weight in my four years at CSU. I continued to gain weight after I graduated. Frankly, I was a bit lost in life, and struggling with confidence and depression. Many people think I’ve always been in great shape and somehow am just blessed with the 'Fit Gene.' But I’ve had my weight battles too. I know what it feels like to battle excess pounds, depression, lack of energy, and dieting issues. After college, I started to work the front desk at a gym simply because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. The rest is history! I worked with a trainer and he literally changed my life and inspired me to go to the National Academy of Sports Medicine where I began to study to become a trainer. Life has a funny way of opening up doors, I just walked threw them -- and, when they slammed -- I just keep beating them down! Everything happens for a reason, and I know I’ve landed on the path that I was meant to follow.
Workout Philosophy: My approach is simple! Making fitness fun and realistic for everyone, regardless of their starting point. With a unique combination of proper nutrition and exercise people, get results ... and that creates motivation. There are no excuses -- I'll help you with a little tough love and hugs and get you to your goals!
Success Story: I honestly don't have a favorite, every one on my clients has a special place in my heart and teaches me something that I can pass on to future clients. Many on my clients have lost over a hundred pounds and gone on to become trainers. It's amazing to see the ripple effect. To me, that is the greatest accomplishment!
