Qualifications: Certified by AFAA and IFTA. Studied extensively with Stephanie Keach and Shiva Rea. Has done yoga workshops with David Swenson, Gary Kraftsow, Rod Stryker, and Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa.
Personal History: I am married with 4 sons, 2 of whom I gave birth to and 2 of whom I gained through marriage. Ever since I was a little girl, I have led an active life. As a youngster, I loved ballet and I danced from age 4 until about 17. After that, I became interested in aerobics and running. More recently, my love for and interest in yoga has grown. Aside from marriage, motherhood, and fitness, I am an artist. I received a BFA in art and interior design from the University of Georgia. I practiced interior design for 8 years, taught design at the University of South Carolina for 4 years, and still do some consulting work on the side. My favorite thing to do is travel...if I could only find someone to pay me to do it! After my 30th birthday, I sold everything I owned (except for the necessities that I could fit into my backpack) and I traveled around the world for 6 months. Africa and New Zealand were my favorites!
Workout Philosophy: Have fun and enjoy whatever you do!
Success Story: Recently, after leading one of my yoga classes, I received a letter from Tracy in Seabrook, Texas. She had taken my class while visiting The Firm in Columbia, SC. In her letter, she stated that I had made a "real difference in [her] life." She was truly grateful to learn how negative thoughts can affect one's entire being and felt that she had embarked on a new beginning of being thankful for her body, rather than always criticizing it. Her letter inspired me in a similar way...as I continue the wonderful journey of life.
